The Slip, a 30 year establishment, is bringing new energy to one of Kirkland’s most iconic waterfront locations at Marina Beach Park. The restaurant will be led by chef and restaurateur Ricky Eng, owner of BeachHouse Bar & Grill in Kirkland. With years of experience serving the local community, he brings a deep understanding of the Kirkland dining scene and a passion for hospitality. At The Slip, guests can expect a welcoming waterfront atmosphere, thoughtful cuisine, and a continued commitment to serving the Kirkland community.
The Menu
The Slip’s menu brings together bold, satisfying flavors with something for everyone. From a lineup of crave-worthy burgers to longtime favorites making a return. Each dish is rooted in comfort and quality. Fresh salads, crispy fish and chips, and classic pub-style offerings round out the menu. Weekend brunch is coming soon to add even more options to your experience.
The Marina
Marina Beach Park sits in the heart of downtown Kirkland, offering visitors a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban convenience with its boat launch, moorage facilities, sandy beach, and stunning open-air pavilion. The park provides magnificent views of Lake Washington and Seattle, making it an ideal spot to dip your toes in the water while enjoying summer concerts and the gentle lake breeze.
The History
In the early 1900s, ferries ran continuously from Marina Park’s city dock to Seattle 18 hours a day, making Kirkland the transportation heartbeat of the Eastside — until the opening of the Lake Washington Floating Bridge in 1940. It was into this storied landscape that The Slip was born. Slinging fresh, creative burgers since 1996, The Slip quickly earned its place as a local institution — anchoring the end of Kirkland Avenue right where it meets Marina Park and the public docks.
